Rules of the Computer Game for Newbies

•When you create a user name and password you must write them down in a place that you can retrieve immediately when needed.
•You must write down passwords exactly as they were entered in, and when using them to get into a website they must be entered in exactly as it was when you created it. Capitalization always matters with passwords.
•There will never be any spaces in a user name or password. You cannot create a user name or password with a space in it. The computer program will not let you.
•If you enter a website that you have never been to and want to find out about a job, you must
register first. You cannot enter in a user name and password from another website to get into that website. If you choose to create a user name and password on the new website you can use ones that you have used before for the sake of convenience, but remember this will not be as secure as using a different user name and password for each website.
•Typically, if you start filling out an online application on a website you can use the backspace to go to the previous screen to make a correction, but chances are you will loose everything you have entered on the page you are on.
•When you have given the computer a command, look on the top left hand side and notice if the tiny globe or flag is moving. If it is, then the computer is working on the command you gave it. Giving the command again will only delay the computer in accomplishing what you want it to do. This is especially true while on the internet.
•If you do not know how to operate a computer "mouse" then learn before or while you trying to accomplish tasks on the computer. Many people want to accomplish tasks on the computer without learning how to operate a computer in the process. Accomplish tasks on the computer in a way that encourages learning and memory of what you are doing.
•If you try to click on an icon, be very gentle because if the "mouse" moves any at all while you click the left button, a circle with a line across the middle will come up and that means the command did not take.
•Learn where and how to use the following: "Back" Button, Refresh Button, Forward Button, Address Line, Copy and Paste icon, How to highlight a section of text or picture, moving between the various screens on your computer, pull up the programs you want to work with.
